Drafts: what you typed is kept, on every device

Orders being booked, lists, claims, emails, notes, messages, tasks, tickets and settings you changed are kept before anything is sent, in this browser and on the server, so a lost connection, a reload or another device costs nothing.

Before every important send, what you typed is saved twice: in this browser at once, and a moment later on the server. If the connection drops, the page reloads, the tab closes or you pick up your phone instead of the computer, it is there when you come back to the page. A note on top says Your unsent ... from 10:42 is back, with a button to start fresh.

Where drafts are kept

  • Book - the orders on the page with every fix (12 hours), and the tracking numbers typed under Waiting for a tracking number. See Booking with PostEx.
  • Log orders - the numbers in the Dispatch and Return boxes until they are logged.
  • Claims - the claim window (type, details, links, every line) and the claim email you are writing.
  • Packing check - the parcel you are scanning: carry on after a reload, or on another phone. See Packing check.
  • Order confirmation - the note typed on each customer's card and the call-back time you picked, until the result or the note is saved. (A result itself is one click and is saved at once.)
  • Import from sheet - the column matching. Carry on opens the same file again (an upload is kept on the server for 24 hours); after that, a file with the same columns gets your matching back.
  • Recent receipts - the orders you picked for a payment (Pick or split) and a pasted alert, until you confirm.
  • Orders - changed customer details (Edit) and the note and tags of an order, until you press Save.
  • Settings - fields you changed on a settings page but did not save: after a reload the page offers Put them back or Discard.
  • Messages, Tasks and Support tickets - a new message, task or ticket, an answer, a comment and a reply, until it is sent.

Never kept

Passwords, API keys, tokens, secrets and PINs are never drafted, on any page: those boxes are skipped. A draft is yours only: nobody else in the store can see it, not even an owner.

How long

A draft goes by itself once the work is sent or saved, when you press Start fresh or Discard, and after 7 days. Book's list comes back for 12 hours only, because orders change. All your drafts, with Open and Discard, are under Profile › Drafts.

TipA private window keeps nothing in the browser, but the server copy still works while you are signed in. On a shared computer, discard your drafts in Profile when you are done.
