Two windows side by side (a side window)

On a computer, open any page or order next to the one you are working on. Handy for checking an order while you scan or book.

On a wide screen with a mouse you can keep two pages open at once: the page you are working on stays on the left, and a side window shows a second page on the right. A typical use: keep Log orders or Book open and look up an order beside it, without losing what you typed or scanned.

  1. Press and hold a menu item, an order number link, or a green or logged-before chip in Log orders, and start dragging towards the right.
  2. A highlighted area shows where it can be dropped. It says Open beside; when a side window is already open it says Replace the side window.
  3. Let go inside the area. The page opens beside the one you are on.

Prefer not to drag? Point at a menu item or an order link and press the small two-column button that appears. You can also select an order number in the page text and drag that.

Good to know

  • A grey area means the drop is not allowed, and it says why. Book and Log orders can each be open only once (two copies would fight over the same draft and the same scanner), and the same page cannot be in both windows.
  • Drag the thin bar between the windows to change the width. Open in a new tab and Close are at the top of the side window.
  • While a side window is open the menu slides in from the left: press the menu button at the top.
  • The side window is remembered if you refresh the page, but only in that browser tab. It needs a screen at least 1100 pixels wide with a mouse, so on phones and tablets nothing changes.
