Help › Booking couriers

Printing labels: Print all and printing without a dialog

One button prints every label of a booking run, all couriers together; set up a PC or PrintNode to print straight to your printer.

After Book selected the Book page prepares the labels of the whole run: each courier's own airway bills where you chose them, and your templates for the rest - in the order you booked. Press Print all and they open as one PDF in one print window. The single files are listed under it if you ever need one again.

Print all after a booking run with two couriers.

Fewer pages

If you print your own labels, each courier fills whole pages of its template (say 3 per A4 page) exactly as before. The labels left over at the end of each courier's run (1 or 2 on a last page) are then put together on shared pages with the other couriers' left-overs, so 1 TCS + 2 Own-rider labels use one page instead of two. This only happens when it really saves a page, A4 labels never share a page with thermal rolls, and the Book page tells you how many pages were saved. Labels of 3-per-page and 2-per-page templates can share a page too: each keeps its own size, and the dashed frames show where to cut. Switch it off under Settings › Labels & printing › Fewer pages.

TipThe courier's own PDF (PostEx airway bills) comes from the courier and cannot be mixed with other labels. Choose one of your own templates for PostEx in Settings › Labels & printing if you want its labels to share pages too.

The same button appears for Print labels in "Waiting for a tracking number" and for the Label button of each booking (and Print selected) in Bookings.

On a phone, Print all opens the joined PDF in a new tab; print or share it from there (for example to a printer app or WhatsApp on the packing PC).

Every file of labels is also kept as a batch, so one you forgot to print is found again later: see Label batches.

Printing straight to the printer from one PC (free)

Chrome can print without its print window, straight to the computer's default printer - which can be a printer on your network (LAN).

  1. On the packing PC, make the label printer the default printer.
  2. Close every Chrome window.
  3. Open Chrome with --kiosk-printing: Settings › Labels & printing › Advanced › Printing shows the exact shortcut for Windows and the command for Mac, with your address, and a Copy button.
  4. Print one label normally once, with margins None and scale 100%; Chrome remembers it.

From then on Print all on that PC goes straight to the printer.

Printing from any device, phones too (PrintNode)

PrintNode (printnode.com) is a paid service with a free trial. A small program on the PC next to the printer receives the labels; the app sends them with no print window, from any device.

  1. Make a PrintNode account and install PrintNode Client on the PC the printer is connected to (USB or network); sign in there.
  2. On printnode.com, Account › API: create an API key.
  3. In Settings › Labels & printing › Advanced › Printing, paste the key and press Connect, choose the printer, and press Save. Test label checks it.
  4. Tick Send labels to this printer automatically after each booking run if you want no button at all; otherwise press Send to printer after booking.
Printing settings: the free PC method and PrintNode.
TipThe API key is stored encrypted. "Disconnect" removes it.
